Since inception in 1999, BuzzCity has evolved and grown significantly. This timeline marks some of the milestones in our history.
1999 - Four co-founders start BuzzCity as a venture-funded technology spinoff from Singapore’s Kent Ridge Digital Labs (now A*STAR), with a service that enables users to track updates from their favourite websites.
2003 - BuzzCity turns its first profits by offering a Cost-Per-Acquisition (CPA) platform to distribute premium mobile contents on thousands of web sites. The service achieves success in China.
2007 - With the growth of mobile Internet and the change of mobile service landscape in China, BuzzCity turns its focus on the rest of the world and improves its platform into a Cost-Per-Click (CPC) mobile advertising platform.
2008 - Naspers / MIH makes it first investment into BuzzCity.
For an account of the early days of Buzzcity by our CEO and co-founder, Dr KF Lai, read his blog entry,'Connecting The Unwired'.
