Dr Lai Kok Fung Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder Dr KF Lai is co-founder and chief executive officer of BuzzCity, a developer of global wireless communities and consumer services. Established in 1999 in Singapore, BuzzCity today operates the world’s leading wireless community - mygamma.com - for two distinct audiences: the newly connected emerging middle class in developing markets and the blue collar sector in developed regions. These "unwired" consumers are accessing the mobile Internet on their phones due to widespread and affordable wireless access. Prior to founding BuzzCity, Dr Lai worked as an applied researcher in laboratories funded by the Singapore government, specializing in pattern recognition and text retrieval. He graduated with First Class Honours in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and obtained his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. expand Hisham Isa Vice President (Sales & Marketing) Hisham holds a Bachelor of Surveying Science degree from University of Newcastle upon Tyne and has had some 20 years experience in industry. He has acted in senior management and marketing roles and has been involved in the field of online / interactive media & mobile marketing since 1996. Hisham has a deep understanding of the impact of the new media and Internet technologies on consumers and businesses. Andrew Lim Vice President (Business Development), Co-Founder Andrew has more than 8 years of experience in the mobile industry. He headed BuzzCity China from 2002 to 2006, grew the operation to one of the major service providers in the country, and was instrumental in the successful acquistion of a local service provider. Before joining BuzzCity, Andrew had worked in various capacities with a local shipping company, gaining important experience in operations, management and business strategy. Andrew holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Business Administration from the Bolton Institute, and a Master in Business Administration from the University of South Australia. Clifford Chew Vice President (Engineering), Co-Founder Clifford leads the Engineering team in developing a scalable architecture and expanding the BuzzCity service. He oversees the strategic investments into Research & Development and IT infrastructure. Clifford's career ranges from technical instruction to designing financial systems at Singapore Airlines to R&D work at Singapore's Kent Ridge Digital Labs (now known as Institute of Infocomm Research). At KRDL, Clifford was involved in much lauded projects such as the Integrated Criminal Justice System Document Management Architecture in which he was a principal designer. Clifford holds a Bachelor Degree in Science and a Master of Technology, both from the National University of Singapore. His top subjects included Mobile Computing and Artificial Intelligence, both important areas in the world of Mobile and Internet Communications and where the company is developing its service. expand Lee Cjin Pheow Principal Engineer, Co-Founder Cjin Pheow designed and implemented the first backbone of the BuzzCity service and continues to play an important part in improving it. He is instrumental in constantly keeping the company's mobile infrastructure updated with the latest technologies. Like Kok Fung and Clifford, Cjin Pheow was an engineer at KRDL, where he won the Technical Innovation Award in 1995. Cjin Pheow won a public scholarship to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned both a Bachelor and Master Degree in Computer Science. Michael Gao Principal Engineer Michael oversees BuzzCity’s system infrastructure and focuses on improving the global platform’s reliability and scalability. He has been involved in BuzzCity’s expansion and acquisition activities, and supervises system integration and migration. Before taking on the current role, Michael led the engineering team in China, managing the complex operation requirements of the local mobile value-added service. Michael was awarded a Scholarship from the Ministry of Education in Singapore and holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. Michael has won over 30 academic awards, competition prizes and scholarships from various organizations. So Mun Chit Operations Controller Mun Chit provides financial advisory services to BuzzCity's group of companies. She works closely with external parties - lawyers, corporate secretaries & tax personnel to ensure the group's operational model complies with the regulatory framework of the local entity. Prior to joining BuzzCity, she kick-started & grew a Nasdaq listed company's local operations into the regional hub for their South Asia & Asean sales and distribution operations. Mun Chit holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Hull and is a certified behavioral consultant. expand Yuszela Yusoff Manager, Content & Community Yuszela is responsible for the management and the operations of BuzzCity’s community services, myGamma. She oversees the key initiatives on development and enhancement of the end user experience and customer care. This includes creating new services that focus on improving the experience of mobile social media including membership generation, maintenance and retention. Yuszela’s previous experience sprang from interactive media and her expertise includes creative design, multimedia programming, content management and communications. She champions efforts on user experience and keeps members as the cornerstone of the company. Yuszela earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design from Queensland University of Technology and a Diploma in Multimedia Computing from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. expand Malcolm Wong Director, International Partnerships Malcolm came aboard armed with valuable and functional capabilities from the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry and the Services industry. He is experienced in business to business, business to consumer marketing and marketing for non-profit organisations. His expertise includes Sales/Account Management, Public Affairs, Advertising & Promotional Activities, Operations Management and Product Marketing. Malcolm manages BuzzCity’s associate marketing programme focused on establishing global collaborations with key partners to generate traffic, membership and sales. In his free time, Malcolm is an active volunteer in the community grassroots organizations in Singapore and is a prominent youth leader. Malcolm holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from Curtin University of Technology, majoring in Marketing and Public Relations. Wandrille Pruvot Regional Director (Europe) As Regional Director of Europe, Wandrille is responsible for driving business development and managing sales and marketing across the region. He spearheads advertising sales efforts and recruitment of publishers in Europe. Prior to joining BuzzCity, Wandrille worked as a Business Development Consultant at mobile business and entertainment company, Netsize. There he handled sales proposals for international projects, including current and future clients in the U.S. Before this, he worked in Canada at MediaPlazza Worldwide, where he held the post of Business Development Manager and then Marketing Director. Wandrille is bilingual, speaking both French and English fluently, and has a strong interest in technology. He studied Marketing at Sciences Po Paris before going on to study New Technologies of Information and Communication at Ecole de Management de Lyon & Ecole Centrale de Lyon. expand Delynn Ho Regional Director (South East Asia) Delynn joined the team with a valued background from the IT, Services and Consultancy industries. She has extensive experience in the development of corporate planning and operations delivery, particularly with project management in the B2B and B2C markets. Her expertise includes Account Management and Marketing. She has developed a leadership role in our Media sales initiatives and her hands-on management of our partners has given her an intimate knowledge of WAP media for mobile marketing. She frequently advises customers globally in the development and deployment of their WAP campaigns across the markets we cover. Delynn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of Ireland, majoring in Marketing. Monchai S. (Monch) Country Manager & Executive Producer (Thailand) Monchai heads our operations in Thailand and is key in delivering the experience of myGamma. He came on board with a solid background in the electronic media industry having served as producer, advertising manager and media planner. Prior to joining BuzzCity, Monchai served as Associate Director at Buddy Broadband, the first IPTV service in Thailand. He was also a pioneering member of Turner Entertainment Network in Hong Kong where he led a team working on the launch of the Cartoon Network in Asia. Monchai earned his Master of Journalism from Wollongong University, Australia and Master of Science in Digital Media from University of Luebeck, Germany focusing on Mobile Entertainment. His working experience has been driven by a passion for the mobile lifestyle. Manish Mishra Country Manager & Executive Producer (India) Manish’s inclusion in the team brought a broad experience in Sales (Channel & Direct Marketing), Advertising, Corporate Communications and Public Relations & Events. His professional career is nourished with a rich experience in hard core Advertising (Financial & Corporate) and Media Sales & Marketing having worked with India’s leading advertising agencies and mainstream print media. Manish is a key member of the editorial team and contributes to the development of the global experience of myGamma and the nurturing of our community in India. Manish spots trends among our membership base and supports initiatives to develop new content programming to feature niche communities.
